The new downtown campus of Tarrant County College will be dedicated to student learning and community outreach. The campus will be a true learning organization in that each unit will have a mission statement, yearly goals, an evaluation/assessment plan, and a plan for professional growth of its members.
Selection committees for every position will look for applicants who have experience at open-door institutions and demonstrated skills in collaboration, in striving for student success, and in service to the community.
TARRANT COUNTY COLLEGE DISTRICT PURCHASES RADIOSHACK CORPORATION COMPLEX FOR NEW DOWNTOWN FORT WORTH CAMPUS
CURRENT TCC DOWNTOWN CONSTRUCTION WILL CONTINUE ON THE SOUTH BLUFF OF THE TRINITY RIVER. THE PLANNED BUILDING NORTH OF THE RIVER WILL NOT BE BUILT.
Fort Worth, TX – Wednesday June 25, 2008. The Tarrant County College District announced today it has purchased the downtown Fort Worth RadioShack Corporation complex from KanAm Grund. Purchase price for the property and buildings is $238 million and will be paid in cash. The buildings and property will be used by TCC for a new Fort Worth downtown campus. An $80 million renovation will begin this year and classes are planned to start in September 2009. The purchase will not affect construction of the TCC facility underway on the south bluff of the Trinity River in downtown Fort Worth.
