International Study Program for Undergraduate Students
Global Citizenship: America and the World
"In an age of new international tensions and shifting global alliances, the need for Americans to understand international affairs, to recognize cultural values other than their own, and to view world events from a variety of perspectives has become increasingly critical."
From the Salzburg Seminar home page.
To address this need, Tarrant County College has initiated a new program for students—the Salzburg Seminar Student International Study Program. Students enroll in two courses that focus on globalization. The courses are scheduled during a special term, and course work culminates with travel to the Salzburg Seminar Student International Study Program held in Salzburg, Austria. There, students participate in an intensive week of exploration and study of international issues with well-known international lecturers. Six semester hours of transferable college credit are earned.

Student Testimonial
I consider the Salzburg trip to be one of the defining experiences of my life. I was stimulated intellectually, and consequently, I realized in myself a heightened capacity to see, feel, and understand our world. Now, I truly feel that I can call myself a global citizen. Upon returning from Salzburg, I immediately implemented my newly acquired knowledge of self and world. I changed my major from a field that only partially fit the old me to one that is perfect for the Quincy that returned from Austria. I am presently studying Social Work at TCU, and I could not be happier with my decision.
I have the utmost respect for the faculty of Tarrant County College. This experience showed me that they are willing to go above and beyond to enrich the lives of their students. I never imagined that studying abroad would be a part of my community college experience. What a blessing! I beg all of you to take advantage of this opportunity. If you have any questions about the trip, feel free to contact me at q.miller@tcu.edu. I am more than happy to share my biased encouragement. Sincerely, Quincy Miller
