Career Coach buttonCourses relate to general horticulture topics and specialties within ornamental and landscape horticulture including:

  • Greenhouse operation and management
  • Landscape design, installation and maintenance
  • Nursery and retail garden center operation and management
  • Soil fertility and fertilizers
  • Pest control

You may take courses for credit or through alternative methods to increase your knowledge and skills in maintaining your gardens and home landscapes.

Credit Courses

You may take credit courses to work toward:

  • A.A.S. degree in Horticulture
  • Certificate of Completion in Horticulture

You can also take academic courses to prepare for advanced degrees in horticulture at senior institutions.

Courses may be taken during the day or at night. All courses are offered at least once as a day or night course during a 2-year period.

Alternative Methods

If you want to take a course but do not need college credit, you may enroll in the course through alternative methods, such as:

  • Audit courses
  • Continuing education
  • Senior education
