Academic Boot Camp

What is  Academic Boot Camp?

Academic Boot Camp is designed to empower you to increase your skill level so you can be successful as you move forward on your academic path and enroll in developmental education courses. 

 

How long does it last?

All Boot Camp courses are available to last throughout the semester.

After enrolling in Boot Camp courses, you work at your own pace. Boot Camp allows you to complete your class before the end of the semester.

 

How much does it cost?

Boot Camp is free of charge!

 

What courses do I take?

Start with Boot Camp Courses:

After you successfully complete your Boot Camp classes with a grade level of 9, you are eligible to register for Developmental Courses:

 

How do I know if I need Academic Boot Camp?

Your TSI assessment score or your Adult Basic Education level tells you if you need Academic Boot Camp.

If your score on the TSI is listed below, then you must go to Academic Boot Camp:

  • TSI Writing:
    • Essay 0–4
    • Sentence Skills 310–349
  • TSI Math: 301–355
  • TSI Reading: 310–341

Also, if your Adult Basic Education level is 1–4, then you must go to Academic Boot Camp.
