Program Description

What is a small Unmanned Aircraft System (sUAS)?

An sUAS is the unmanned aircraft and the equipment used to safely operate that aircraft.

You must have a remote pilot certificate to fly an sUAS for commercial or non-hobbyist purposes. Hobbyists can fly without the certification but still have to follow many of the same rules.

How do I get a remote pilot certificate?

You must take and pass the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) sUAS Airman Knowledge exam before you can apply for a Remote Pilot Certificate.

Credentials in Detail

After successfully completing this course, you will be prepared to take the FAA small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) Airman Knowledge exam.

Once you pass the exam, you will be eligible to apply for a Remote Pilot Certificate.

The Remote Pilot Certification test fee is $150. The FAA sets the test fee.
