We strongly encourage you to transfer to a 4-year university to pursue your bachelor's degree in nursing after you complete your A.A.S. in Nursing at TCC.

Hospitals

The TCC Nursing Department's Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) Degree Program may offer nursing courses to our partner hospitals in the area, so they can "grow their own RNs."

John Peter Smith (JPS)

If you are a student in the JPS partnership cohort, you must be:

  • Employed by JPS
  • Approved by the hospital to receive educational benefits.
    • You must submit the letter of approval from JPS (post-acceptance requirement).
  • Selected for admission by our Nursing Department A.A.S. Degree Program
    • The admission requirements are the same for all students.

Medical City Healthcare: Texas Two-Step Nursing Program

If you are a student in the Medical City Healthcare partnership cohort, you must:

  • Have been employed at a Medical City facility for a minimum of 6 months.
  • Be in good standing with your facility and have had no disciplinary action/write-ups within previous 4 months.
  • Submit to your Site Coordinator a recommendation letter (on hospital letterhead) from your manager or director addressing your professional behavior, attendance, work ethic, and attitude.
  • Make a commitment to 2 years of employment and completion of your BSN degree (2nd step).
  • Be selected for admission by our Nursing Department A.A.S. Degree Program.
    • The admission requirements are the same for all students.
