Dance from Texas to Ireland

May 2017

The road is rising up to meet you. 
Travel to Ireland this spring and dance on the Emerald Isle!

Join our Dance Program in Ireland for a Mini May Dance Appreciation course and a tour of Ireland. You will have the opportunity to:

  • Go to the Dublin Dance Festival to see international artists perform
  • Participate in dance classes at Dance Ireland
  • Take DANC-2303 Dance Appreciation, a 3-credit course that will count as your Creative Arts Core Class

    • May 17–25: Travel to Ireland
    • May 26: Meet for final class on Northwest Campus
  • Course Credit: DANC-2303 Dance Appreciation (3 credits)

    • DANC-2303: $177
    • Study Abroad: $3,030 ($200 discount September 1–30)
  • Deadlines:
    • To apply: January 31, 2017
    • To enroll: February 4, 2017
      • Full payment will be due at this time. 
  • Participants: This program is open to both students and community members.

How does the Dance Appreciation course work?

The 3-credit blended course includes online materials as well as face-to-face course work. You will work on the course when you are on campus in Texas and when you are abroad in Ireland.

This course is focused on dance but is open to anyone. We will adapt assignments and group projects to the talents you bring to the group.

We also invite community members to enroll in the course as non-credit students and to participate in the tour, classes and performances.

How much does it cost?

EF College Tours

We partner with EF College Tours for the Ireland experience:

  • Non-refundable reservation fee: $95
  • Program fee: $3,200 average (increases each month closer to departure)

Note: A minimum of 17 participants must be enrolled, or the program will be cancelled. If the program is cancelled, you will receive a 100% refund for any monies paid—except for the $95 non-refundable EF College Tour reservation fee.

TCC Tuition

Is financial aid available?

EF College Tours offers monthly payment options. 

You may also apply for a personal loan through the financial aid office.

How do I join the program?

  1. Enroll with EF College Tours
    • Go to EF College Tours
    • Enter tour #1817972ZK 
    • Pay the $95 non-refundable fee to reserve your spot and hold your Program Fee
      • Pay the Program Fee (average of $3,200) as soon as you are able; it increases each month closer to departure
    • Deadline: February 4, 2017, full payment of Program Fee is due
  2. Apply to the TCC Study Abroad Program
    • Contact Amy L. Jennings ( for an application
    • Deadline: January 31, 2017, all applications are due
  3. Register for DANC-2303 Dance Appreciation
    • Have your completed and approved application before you register
      • Maymester registration opens March 13, 2017

What about cultural activities?

Some of the classes and festivals require additional fees. We will plan fundraising activities during the upcoming year to help offset these fees.
