Applying to Our Health Sciences Programs?

The Health Educations Systems, Inc. (HESI) A2 Admission Assessment is part of the application process for our Health Sciences Programs.

You may test 1 time per TCC application period. If you take the test more than 1 time, the exams must be at least 60 days apart.

Results of the test will be available immediately after completion.

General Information

HESI A2 is available by appointment only. You will not be tested on a walk-in or stand-by basis under any circumstances.

  • Location: Trinity River Testing Center (TRTR 1430D)
    • This is on the main Trinity River Campus.
    • Parking may be limited. Please allow plenty of time and arrive early.
  • Time: 9 a.m.
    • If you are more than 5 minutes late after the session begins:
      • You will not be allowed to test
      • You will not be refunded
      • You will not be allowed to reschedule
  • Duration: 4 hours
  • Format: A computerized exam

Register for HESI A2

Follow our instructions to register for the HESI A2. You will need to know the payment ID (below) for your chosen test date.

If the dates below are full or you are not located in the DFW area, you may take the exam at a Prometric Testing Center.

Follow our instructions to register for distance testing with a Prometric Testing Center. The department ID for TCC is 202016.

2018 Dates

Trinity River Testing Services will not offer any additional exam dates in November/December. Test dates for January and February 2019 will be posted on the morning of Wednesday, January 2, 2019.

Do not schedule more than one exam date within a 60-day period. You may only test once every 60 days.

Testing Center Rules

You are not allowed to have any electronic devices at any time during the exam—whether you are in or out of the exam room.

You will be dismissed from the examination if you are found with an electronic device in your possession, including:

  • Mobile phone
  • Personal digital assistant
  • Camera
  • Tape recorder
  • Pager
  • Timer
  • Other electronic recording or transmitting device

You must leave any personal belongings in the designated area outside of the exam room. These items include:

  • Textbooks
  • Notebooks
  • Papers
  • Food and drinks
  • Purses
  • Electronic devices
  • Other personal belongings, including jackets and hats

The Testing Center is not responsible for any personal items.


If you need to request a refund, you must cancel your exam in writing at least 24 hours before your scheduled test date. Test fees are non-refundable after this deadline.

How many refunds can I request?

You may only request one refund per six month (180 days) period. If you cancel more than one test date within 180 days, you will only be refunded for one test date.

Can I reschedule my test?

The Testing Center will not reschedule your test date and you cannot transfer test fees to another test date. If you need to reschedule your test date, you must cancel your original test date at least 24 hours in advance and request a refund. Then you may sign up and pay for another test date, subject to availability.

How long will it take to receive my refund?

Refunds are processed by Elsevier and may take as long as 4–6 weeks to process.

How do I cancel my test date?

Your email request must be sent at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled test date in order to receive a refund. To cancel your test date, email the following information to

  • Scheduled test date
  • Phone number
  • Evolve ID
  • Purchase date
  • Card type (Visa, Mastercard, etc.)
  • Name as it appears on card

Your refund request must be sent from your official TCC email account. If you are not a TCC student, please send your request from your official college or university email account. Emails from personal accounts will not be accepted.
