From adult beginners to more advanced adults, Workforce Services offers a variety of educational opportunities to help you reach your goals. Our entire programming is designed to help you re-position yourself through foundational academic classes and career training.
Most classes are free, or you may qualify for scholarships or financial assistance.
Adult Basic Education
You're an Adult Basic Education student if you are looking to prepare for the High School Equivalency (HSE/GED®, Bi-Lingual HSE/GED®). You may also be interested in our courses for non-native speakers if you want to improve your language skills (ESL and ESL for Professionals).
- High School Equivalency (8-week classes)
- ESL or ESL for Professionals (8-week classes)
You will learn to:
- Improve basic skills in reading, writing, and math
- Improve skills to return to high school
Integrated Education Training Classes (IET)
Our short-term classes combine adult education, literacy, workforce training, and preparatory activities. This program is a part of a unique career pathway approach that allows you to become better prepared for the workforce relative to specific in-demand jobs.
- Call Center Agent
- Healthcare (CNA, Phlebotomy, EKG)
Upon completion of the program, you will earn a recognized industry credential and will be afforded the opportunity to receive stackable credentials within the same career pathway. You may also decide to pursue further education within your career pathway by enrolling into undergraduate courses.
Classes are offered at 4 community-based learning centers in Fort Worth and Arlington:

- Central Workforce Center (CWC)
- Water from the Rock Enterprises, Inc.
Additional classes may be offered at other sites including school districts, faith-based and community-based organizations.
