Strategic Plan: Advancing Our Future

Creating a Strategic Plan for Tarrant County College

TCC is crafting a blueprint to greatness, a plan to become the community college the future demands. We're doing it now because our growing region needs highly skilled workers more than ever.

We're not starting from scratch but building on the exceptional work already accomplished. More than goals and metrics, this new plan will embrace the collective aspirations of our students, faculty, staff, friends and partners. A brighter tomorrow beckons.

A Message from the Chancellor

Elva LeBlancWe're not just entering the future. We're creating it.

Work is underway on a new multiyear strategic plan that will enrich the student and employee experience, strengthen the economy and grow TCC's prominence as one of the best comprehensive two-year institutions in the nation.

Developing a strategic plan that will take us into 2030 and beyond is exciting and critically important. It will build on the College's strengths without losing sight of our dedication to student achievement and community engagement.

When finished, we'll have a unified strategic framework that captures the same energy and vision that inspired our founding almost 60 years ago.

Partnering with MGT of America, a higher education consulting firm based in Tampa, Fla., we will conduct interviews, focus groups and surveys to shape measurable goals and action steps. The final document will be ready for review by the TCC Board of Trustees in August.

Our achievements come directly from our students, faculty, staff, friends and partners. Together we will advance our future!

Elva LeBlanc, Ph.D.

What is a strategic plan?

A document that guides daily and long-term institutional endeavors. It ensures that decisions and operations carry out the institution's mission, vision and values.

Why is strategic planning important?

It provides guidance to make decisions that follow a larger vision and serves as an actionable way to reach the College's goals. We will align our operations and plans—academic, technology, business, communications, facilities—with our bold blueprint for the future. All plans are in development.

Why develop a new strategic plan now?

There are several reasons:

  • Since our founding in 1965, we have been committed to student achievement, affordability and access. The new strategic plan will provide a framework for expanded opportunities to support students in reaching their full potential.
  • Institutional growth and changing dynamics in higher education are driving the need for an integrated and agile multiyear strategic plan.
  • The economic vitality and competitiveness of our region have never been more closely tied to accessible, affordable education and training. This new plan will deepen our commitment to our students, our county and our region. It will help us navigate challenges and craft new collaborations.

Who is leading the strategic planning process?

Assistant to the Chancellor Serafin Garcia and Chief Transformation Officer Victoria Yen will lead an inclusive and transparent process, culminating in a plan that captures the same vision that inspired TCC's founding almost 60 years ago.
