Program Description

You will learn the fundamentals of community pharmacy technician principles and procedures.

Blended Classes

Our pharmacy technician courses will be delivered in a blended format—combining online and face-to-face lectures.

Licensing Notice: Texas House Bill 1508

This program prepares you for an occupational license. However, you may not be eligible for licensing if you have a prior criminal history.

Credentials in Detail

After successfully completing the program, you may register and directly pay for the Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) exam through your preferred certification organization:

Summer 2024 Application Timeline

  • Applications available:  March 4, 2024
  • Application deadline:  June 5, 2024
  • Classes begin:  July 15, 2024
  • Program duration:  July 15–December 5, 2024

How to Apply

  • Review the Information Session Presentation Slides when they are available
    • Submit your certification of completion form with your application.
  • New TCC students only: Complete a CE enrollment form
    • If you have not previously attended TCC, contact the program director or career advisor for more information.
  • Gather the required supporting documents & scan them if applicable
    • Copy of your high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency
    • Test score(s), if applicable
    • College transcript(s), official or unofficial, to provide proof of exemption from TSI
    • Information session completion certificate
  • Download, print & fill out the application when it is available
  • Email your completed application & supporting documents to
  • Register for class
    • Once you have been accepted, the program director will notify you.
