ESL and ESL for Professionals

English as a Second Language (ESL)

Our classes welcome adults at different skill levels. You can work on your own, but most people learn more when they work in small groups. These groups may be based on skill level or assigned at random.

Classes meet twice a week in the daytime or evenings. Each class has both instruction and interactive practice. You will practice listening, speaking, reading, writing, and grammar.

At orientation, you will take a placement test. This placement test makes sure that instruction matches your level of understanding.

ESL for Professionals

ESL for Professionals can help you verify your degree. This program is for people who have a bachelor’s degree from their home country but have not been able to find work in their field in the United States.

In this 16-week course, you will get support to have your degree verified. Once verified, you can share it with U.S. colleges and employers.

The Workforce Commission of Tarrant County pays for your degree verification fees.
