Our AEL Programs

College and Career Ready
Our College and Career Ready programs give you the skills and support you need to achieve your academic and career goals.
Transitions to College Success: Need an academic refresher? This course gives you the skills and support needed to transition into college life.
This 12-hour developmental course is required before starting either of the following:
- Adult Vocational Academies (AVA) Program: These courses focus on literacy, vocational training, and exploring industries and college education pathways. You must have a high school diploma or GED® to be eligible.
- Integrated Education Training (IET) Program: These short-term classes will help you earn credentials to be better prepared for in-demand jobs.
ESL and ESL for Professionals
Our English as a Second Language (ESL) programs help you build English skills for daily life, work, and school. You will practice listening, speaking, reading, writing, and grammar. Classes are offered during the day and evening.
We also offer ESL for Professionals. This program is for adults with a bachelor’s degree from another country. You will learn how to write resumes, prepare for interviews, and search for jobs using tools like LinkedIn.
High School Equivalency Classes
Our High School Equivalency (HSE/GED®) programs help adult learners build basic skills and earn a high school credential. Study reading, writing, math, science, and social studies to prepare for each part of the GED® test.
We offer both an English HSE/GED® and a Bilingual HSE/GED® format. Programs run in 16-week sessions.

All classes are free to residents of the following counties:
- Erath
- Hunt
- Johnson
- Somervell
- Tarrant
Additional classes may be offered at other sites including school districts, faith-based and community-based organizations. Classes are offered at all 5 physical TCC Campuses and our alternate locations.
