Courses in Detail
INRW-0090 College Readiness Reading & Writing
Helps you improve your basic reading and writing skills.
You will study:
- Individualized development of reading comprehension
- Vocabulary
- Grammar
- Word usage
- Sentence structure
- Relationships among ideas in written material
Placement
Based on these TSI-A results:
- Reading score of 310–337 and ABE Level 0–6
- Writing score of 310–327 and ABE Level 0–6 and Essay 0–4
INRW-0399 Integrated Reading & Writing II
Combines 3-hour lecture and 1-hour lab in 1 performance-based course.
Helps you develop your critical thinking, reading and academic writing skills.
You will study :
- Grammar
- Mechanics
- Sentence Structure
- Use of Standard English
- Reading comprehension
- Reading and analyzing a variety of academic texts
If you earn a C or better, this course fulfills TSI requirements for reading and writing.
Placement
Based on:
- Successful completion of INRW-0090
or - These TSI-A results:
- Reading score of 338–347
or - Writing score of 328–335 and ABE Level 4–6 and Essay 0–4
- Reading score of 338–347
