Courses in Detail

INRW-0090 College Readiness Reading & Writing

Helps you improve your basic reading and writing skills.

You will study:

  • Individualized development of reading comprehension
  • Vocabulary
  • Grammar
  • Word usage
  • Sentence structure
  • Relationships among ideas in written material


Based on these TSI-A results:

  • Reading score of 310–337 and ABE Level 0–6
  • Writing score of 310–327 and ABE Level 0–6 and Essay 0–4

INRW-0399 Integrated Reading & Writing II

Combines 3-hour lecture and 1-hour lab in 1 performance-based course.

Helps you develop your critical thinking, reading and academic writing skills.

You will study :

  • Grammar
  • Mechanics
  • Sentence Structure
  • Use of Standard English
  • Reading comprehension
  • Reading and analyzing a variety of academic texts

If you earn a C or better, this course fulfills TSI requirements for reading and writing.


Based on:

  • Successful completion of INRW-0090
  • These TSI-A results:
    • Reading score of 338–347
    • Writing score of 328–335 and ABE Level 4–6 and Essay 0–4
