What is the Summer Academy of Health Sciences?

Summer Academy of Health Science (SAHS) is a collaborative summer program customized for TCC science students to explore careers as providers in Health Sciences.

The program is a collaborative partnership between Tarrant County College (TCC) and University of North Texas Health Fort Worth (UNTHFW).

Academy Details

  • Cost: Free
  • Age: 18 years and older
  • Orientation Dates: Choose either the in-person or virtual option below. 
  • Academy Dates: Tuesdays and Thursdays starting July 7–August 6, 2026
  • Time: 9 a.m.–3 p.m. (lunch will be provided)

What do we offer?

Our academy offers:

  • Hands-on and engaging experiences (on-site activities, lab tour, active writing, and more)
  • Collaborative work from dedicated instructors who are active in the field of health science
  • Authentic and student-centered learning environment
  • Interactive sessions that cover areas such as:
    • Biomedical science
    • Health professions
    • Osteopathic medicine
    • Pharmacy
    • Public health

How do I apply?

The application page for the 2026 Summer Academy of Health Sciences will open March 1. We appreciate your enthusiasm and interest!

The application deadline is Monday, May 18, at 11:59 p.m.. All accepted students will be notified via TCC email by Monday, May 19, at 12 p.m..

What are the requirements?

  • Instructor's reference (included within the application)
  • An essay (included within the application)
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must be a current TCC student
  • Have a potential interest in health science field of study

Orientation Details

Accepted students are required to attend orientation. During orientation you will complete additional required documents and register for the program.
