Summer Academy of Health Sciences
What is the Summer Academy of Health Sciences?
Summer Academy of Health Science (SAHS) is a collaborative summer program for historically excluded student groups to experience and explore careers as providers in health science. You will learn about careers in research, teaching, health care, and public health.
The program is a collaborative partnership is between Tarrant County College (TCC) and University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC).
Academy Details
- Cost: Free
- Age: 18 years and older
- Orientation Date: May 17, 2024 (required)
- Academy Dates: Tuesdays and Thursdays starting July 9–August 8, 2024
- Time: 9 a.m.–3 p.m. (lunch will be provided)
- Locations:
- Every Tuesday at UNTHSC Campus
- Every Thursday at TCC Trinity River Campus
What do we offer?
Our academy offers:
- Interactive and engaging experiences (on-site activities, lab tour, active writing, and more)
- Collaborative work from dedicated instructors who are active in the field of health science

- Biomedical science
- Health professions
- Osteopathic medicine
- Pharmacy
- Public health

How do I apply?
Apply using our Summer Academy of Health Sciences application. Applications will be open in early March 2024.
Accepted students will be notified via TCC email on May 13, 2024.
What are the requirements?
- One recommendation letter
- An essay (included within the application)
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must be a current TCC student
- Have a potential interest in health science field of study
Orientation Details
Accepted students are required to attend orientation. During orientation you will complete additional required documents and register for the program.
