The Engineering Academy at TCC offers you the chance to earn a bachelor's degree in engineering from Texas A&M University College of Engineering by enrolling at TCC and Texas A&M at the same time.

You are co-enrolled at both schools as you work toward your degree.

How does it work?

You are co-enrolled at TCC and Texas A&M for the program.

  1. Start at TCC South Campus

    Take your math, science, and core curriculum courses at TCC South Campus.

    Plus, take an engineering course taught by Texas A&M faculty each semester.

  2. Finish at the Texas A&M Campus

    Transition as a full-time student to Texas A&M University after 1 to 2 years at TCC.

    Finish your engineering degree in College Station, Texas.

Am I eligible?

The prequalification process for the 2026–2027 academic year will open on December 1, 2025.

Math Requirements

You must meet the Pre-Calculus or Calculus I readiness requirements with any of the following:

Exam Scores

If you are a First-Time-in-College-Student:

  • Submit your SAT Math Score (600 or higher) or ACT Math Score (25 or higher) and take the ALEKS PPL Assessment, TCC's math placement test, to be considered ready for Pre-Calculus or Calculus I
College Credit
  • Provide your current college transcript(s) to show credit for Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, or Calculus I with a grade of A, B, or C
Standardized Exams (Prior Learning Assessment)
  • Submit your Advanced Placement (AP) or College Level Exam Program (CLEP) math scores

Other Requirements

You must:

  • Be a first-time, full-time, or continuing education student
  • Have earned a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Be TSI-met in Reading and Writing
  • Not be a current or former Texas A&M student
  • Not already have a bachelor's degree

How much does it cost?

TCC and Texas A&M handle your tuition and fees separately.

TCC will bill you based on the number of credit hours you take at TCC.

Texas A&M will also bill you based on the number of credit hours you take at Texas A&M.

How do I apply?

  1. Apply to TCC
  2. Become a TCC student
  3. Submit the Texas A&M Engineering Academy Prequalification Form
  4. Fill out the Texas A&M application after you are prequalified
  5. Submit your application and supporting documents by the deadline: June 15, 2026
