Law Enforcement Academy Program Costs & Dates

As a cadet you have the option to attend the Law Enforcement Academy for college credit or for continuing education. Both options will allow you to take the state licensing exam and become a Texas peace officer.

If you choose the credit route, and you complete the program successfully, you will receive up to 24 hours of college credit. These hours will be applied to an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Criminal Justice.

Credit Tuition Costs

  • Tarrant County resident: $2,187 total
    • Initial payment: $2,112 tuition
    • Billed later: $75 CE fee
  • Out-of-county: TBD
  • Out-of-state: TBD

The Basic Peace Officer course is offered only during the daytime and in-person. This course is not offered online.
