Request SAR Services

You can request accommodations through the Student Accessibility Resources (SAR) Office if you have a qualifying disability. Qualifying disabilities are defined in Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act (opens in a new tab) and the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) (opens in a new tab).

SAR does not provide:

  • Personal attendants
  • Individually prescribed devices (such as reading glasses)
  • Personal services (such as tutoring or typing)

If you receive accommodations, disability-related information may be shared on a need-to-know basis within TCC in accordance with FERPA guidelines.

How to Request Accommodations from SAR

You must be accepted to TCC before registering with our office. We recommend you begin the SAR request process as soon as you receive your TSI voucher or register for classes.

Follow the instructions below to begin the SAR request process:

  • Complete the new student application through the AIM student portal (opens in a new tab)
    • Log in with your TCC student email and password
  • Upload documentation to your AIM application
    • This documentation explains your disability or medical condition and supports your request
    • Review our documentation guidelines for more information
  • Meet with the SAR office
    • We will email you after we review your application and documentation
    • You will get an email to your TCC student email address asking you to schedule an in-person or virtual intake meeting

After Your First Request

You only need to do an intake meeting once while you're at TCC. Each semester after that, request your letters of accommodation using the AIM student portal (opens in a new tab).

Complaints of Discrimination

If you feel that you have been discriminated against based on race, color, national origin, sexual orientation, religion, gender, physical or mental disability, veteran status, or age, by any employee of Tarrant County College, you are to file a compliant using the Student Complaint/Grievance Form.
