Register for the HESI A2
To take the HESI A2 exam at TCC, you must:
- Have a TCC student ID number, and
- Intend to apply to a TCC nursing or health sciences program
Testing Options
You can take the HESI A2 exam through the following options:
- In person at the TCC Trinity River testing center ($53*)
- Online through ProctorU ($75*)

Testing Accommodations
Do you need testing accommodations? Contact your campus Student Accessibility Resources (SAR) Office before you schedule your appointment to test.
In-Person Exam at the TCC Trinity River Testing Center
To take the HESI A2 exam in person, you must:
- Bring a physical government-issued ID.
- Register for an in-person test date with through RegisterBlast.
- Fall 2026: Exam dates will be released on Monday, August 17, at 1 p.m.
- Summer 2026: No in-person options are available at this time. See Registering for the Online HESI A2 Exam for email instructions.
- The testing center will email you payment instructions 24–48 hours after you register for your test date. Then, log in or create an Evolve/Elsevier account to pay testing fees.
- Print your Evolve/Elsevier receipt showing payment. Bring the receipt to the testing center on your exam date. Testing center staff will collect your receipt.
Online Exam Through ProctorU
To take the exam online through ProctorU, you'll need:
- Desktop or laptop computer
- Webcam
- Microphone
- Dry erase board and 1 dry erase marker for notetaking
This is not a full list of requirements. ProctorU may require additional materials.
Registering for the Online HESI A2 Exam
HESI A2 remote testing instructions are available on a semester basis and are only valid for that semester.
Using your TCC student email, send the following information to TR.TestingServices@tccd.edu:
- Your name
- Your TCC student ID number
- Request for HESI A2 instructions for remote testing
- The semester during which you want to take the exam
Retaking the Online HESI A2 Exam
If you have already taken the online HESI A2 exam and 60 days have passed since your first test date, you may take the online HESI A2 again.
Canceling/Rescheduling an Online HESI A2 Exam
If you need to cancel or reschedule your online HESI A2 Exam, contact ProctorU at 855-772-8678. TCC Testing Services is unable to cancel or reschedule your ProctorU exam appointment.
Name Discrepancy Policy
You must use a name that matches your government-issued ID when taking the HESI exam. If the names do not match, you will not be able to access your results, and TCC cannot process name changes.
Refund Policy
HESI fees are paid directly to Evolve/Elsevier. No fees are collected by TCC or the testing center. As such, we cannot authorize a refund.
