Career Advising

Career advisors help you achieve academic and career goals.

How can a career advisor help me?

Career advisors help current or returning students:

  • Identify and explore a career pathway options at TCC
  • Plan your class schedule
  • Learn about transferring to a 4-year university
  • Explore career options and resources
  • Find campus resources like tutoring, academic help, and more

Do I have an assigned career advisor?

Yes, TCC assigns an advisor, based on your career pathway, to be your personal guide throughout your academic and career journey with us.

To locate your assigned career advisor,

  1. Log in to Hello!TCC.
  2. Search for or select Student Summary.
  3. Schedule an appointment with your assigned career advisor.

How often should I meet with my career advisor?

While you are welcome to meet with your career advisor as often as needed, you are required to schedule and attend at least one 45-minute appointment with your assigned career advisor during each of the following credit hour milestones:

  • 0–15 credit hours
  • 16–30 credit hours
  • 31–45 credit hours
  • 46 or more credit hours

Important notes:

  • Drop-in visits or 15-minute sessions do not fulfill this requirement.
  • Complete your full advising appointment during each credit hour milestone to ensure you stay on track with your academic and career goals. Students who do so may avoid potential delays in registration.
