TCC Course Credit for CLEP Exams

TCC gives credit for 21 of the 34 CLEP exams and allows up to 18 semester hours to be earned toward a degree or certificate.

Exams with Essays

For exams that require a department essay, you must pass the essay portion in addition to the computer-delivered College Board CLEP exam to receive full course credit.

If you do not pass the essay portion, you cannot retake the essay portion and must take the TCC course to receive course credit.

This applies to the following CLEP exams:

  • American Government
  • History of the United States I
  • History of the United States II
