Application Timeline

Fall Admission

  • September 2–March 1: Application for fall admission available
  • March 1: Application deadline for fall admission
    • No late applications accepted.
  • April: Applicants notified of their status

Follow These Steps to Apply to Diagnostic Medical Sonography

Step 1: Apply to TCC

Apply online with ApplyTCC (use Firefox or Chrome for the best experience)

Once you are accepted as a student at TCC, you will get a TCC Student ID number.

You need a TCC Student ID number for your application to Diagnostic Medical Sonography.

Step 2: Attend an Information Session

Find out everything you need to know about our program: requirements, courses, costs, and more.

Attending an information session is an application requirement. You will submit your Certificate of Attendance with your application.

Step 3: Make sure you are eligible to apply

What are the requirements?

For details, go to Selective Admission: Diagnostic Medical Sonography.

Step 4: Get current official transcripts

You will need to submit your official college transcripts from all colleges and schools you have attended to the TCC Admissions and Registrar Office.

If you have not attended college or if you will have fewer than 12 college semester hours by the application deadline, you will need to submit your official high school transcript(s).

International Students

Contact International Admissions (817-515-1570) at least 8 weeks before the application deadline to schedule an appointment if you have international transcripts.

Step 5: Take required admissions exams before you apply

  1. Ultrasound Student Assessment (USA)

    USA through Pegasus Lecture is the required admissions exam for the program.

    You must successfully complete the exam. You can take it only 1 time per application period.

  2. If English is not your first language

    You will need to take one of the following English readiness exams:

Step 6: Submit your application by the deadline

We will not accept late applications.

  2. Be sure to include required supporting materials

    • Immunization records
    • Information Session Certificate of Attendance
  3. Complete and electronically sign your online application

    We will not accept paper applications.

Step 7: Find out the status of your application

Selected to Continue with an Interview?

You will participate in a formal interview with a panel of program faculty and representatives from our clinical affiliates.

We will send you an appointment time with instructions of what to expect and how to prepare for the interview.

Declined?

You will receive the general reason for the decision.

There is no wait list. You must reapply the following application period if you are not accepted into the program.

Step 8: Find out your status after the interview

Accepted?

You will receive a letter of acceptance into the program.

Alternate?

You will be given the opportunity to be on the alternate list.
