How do I apply for dual credit at TCC?

High School Students

Use this option if you attend a local high school, private school, or charter school, and would like to participate through your school.

1. Check if your school has a dual credit partnership with TCC.
2. Talk to your high school counselor or one of our coordinators of educational partnerships.
3. Apply for admission.

Home School Students

Use this option if you receive your secondary schooling at home.

How do I register for dual credit classes?

After you've been admitted at TCC, you should work with our coordinators of educational partnerships to register for classes, or self-register (if permitted).

Make sure you have a plan to register for TCC's registration deadlines.

If You're Taking an Online Dual Credit Class

Take the Online Readiness Assessment at least 24 hours before you register for an online course.

What classes are offered through dual credit?

Dual credit courses are offered in a variety of subject areas, including math, science, English, economics, history, government, and technical courses. These courses serve as paths to academic degree programs or college-level workforce education courses.

Our specific course offerings are determined through written agreements between TCC and your participating high school, private, charter or home school. Depending on the agreement, courses may not be offered every semester.

Confirm offerings with a TCC Coordinator of Educational Partnerships for your campus. The College reserves the right to add, change or cancel any course section as necessary.

Where are dual credit classes taught?

The location of your classes is determined by the agreement your high school, private, charter or home school has with TCC.

Dual credit course locations include:

• In-person at your high school
• In-person at a TCC campus (Find the TCC campus nearest you)
• Online (through TCC Connect)

What are the eligibility requirements for dual credit?

To be eligible, you must:

• Be enrolled in good standing in 9–12 grade of a participating high school, private, charter or home school,
• Have approval from a high school counselor or administrator,
• Fulfill appropriate admissions criteria to TCC,
  • Learn more about applying to TCC dual credit.
• Meet minimum test scores, and
• Have a TSI assessment score or exemption on file with TCC.

Can I take dual credit if I'm a home school student?

Yes! You'll need to meet the eligibility requirements listed above.

How much does dual credit cost?

Starting Fall 2023, tuition is waived for dual credit students as part of the FAST program.
